Our Policy to Manage COVID-19 Risks

The health and safety of our clients and our team is a top priority at North Brisbane Psychologists. Given the global pandemic of COVID-19 and over-stretched health services, we believe all businesses have a serious social responsibility to minimise the risk of transmission. As our business does not involve group situations, we will continue to practice. The following consultation options and practice policies are there to minimise risk to our clients and practitioners.

Video and Telephone Options are Available

If you or people in your household have symptoms, or if you have been instructed to isolate, we will not be conducting face-to-face sessions with you. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness and dry cough. Some people also experience aches, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat and diarrhoea. If you think you’re infected, call the 24-hour coronavirus health information hotline on 1800 020 080.

To arrange an appointment by video or phone, give us a call at 3726 5595 or email us at info@northbrisbanepsychologists.com.au.

Payments and Rebates for Online / Telephone Sessions

Medicare rebates now apply for video and phone sessions. For video sessions, we have a secure video platform for telehealth through Cliniko which does not require you to download any software. To join your video appointment look for the link in your booking confirmation email.

You can still book online or email your Psychologist to arrange a phone or video appointment.

You can pay for your appointment over the phone (call Reception on 3726 5595) or arrange an Electronic Funds Transfer with your Psychologist. We can then arrange a rebate for you through our online Medipass system. To obtain a Medicare rebate for you, we need a copy of your GP referral and your Medicare card number. To obtain a health fund rebate, we need all the details from your card.

Hygiene At Our Clinic

If you are seeing your Psychologist at our clinic, we have implemented a protocol to ensure a hygienic environment for clients and clinicians alike. We ask all clients to wait outside, have removed furniture from our waiting room, and will be disinfecting door handles, furniture, faucets, EFTPOS machine, and countertops several times throughout the day. We have hand sanitiser available in the Reception and in all consultation rooms. This is in addition to the professional cleaning company who thoroughly cleans the clinic each week.

We are encouraging our team and clients to stay up to date with government advice via the Department of Health website. If you are experiencing anxiety around the coronavirus, please see this information sheet developed by the Australian Psychological Society.

If you have any questions or concerns about our efforts to support clients through this stressful time, please contact our Director, Dr Rachel Hannam.

Thank you for trusting our team at North Brisbane Psychologists to continue to provide you with compassionate, evidence-based care.
