MClinPsych MPH GDipPsych (Adv) BPsych AMAPS

Medicare registered Psychologist

Kayla is a friendly and compassionate Psychologist who supports people aged 8 and older with anxiety, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, binge eating, disordered eating, body image disturbance, perfectionism and burnout. When working with disordered eating and body image concerns, Kayla takes a weight neutral, Health At Every Size (HAES) informed approach.

Kayla’s work is grounded in social justice values, meaning she understands that mental health challenges aren’t always signs that something is “wrong” with you, but rather they are often understandable responses to the systems you live within and the life experiences you’ve had. She strives to create a space where you can deeply explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours without judgement – helping you figure out what’s serving you and what is not to pursue your short- and long-term goals.

Kayla is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming therapist and passionate about supporting Autistic and ADHDer folk and the LGBTQIAP+ community. She endeavours to create a therapeutic space that feels safe, affirming, and welcoming for all people. With Kayla you can expect unconditional warmth and curiosity with a sprinkle of humour.

Kayla tailors her approach to each individual’s unique needs, drawing on a range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills Training.

Outside of work, Kayla enjoys reading, crossfit, going to the beach, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.
