Jane is a skilled and experienced counsellor with an Honours degree in Psychology. She works with children (10 years and over) and adolescents, as well as families and individual adults. Jane’s therapeutic approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed. Her therapy style ensures that her clients always feel they are in a safe space.
Please note: Jane is a very experienced mental health professional and a provisionally registered Psychologist until she obtains full AHPRA registration. Her clients will then be eligible for Medicare rebates. Until then, her fee is $100, which similar to the usual co-payment when seeing one of our fully-registered Psychologists. Once Jane is fully registered, her clients will need a GP Mental Health Care Plan to obtain a Medicare rebate in order to obtain a similar copayment.
Jane sees people for depression and low mood, anxiety and panic, OCD, trauma and PTSD, disordered eating, behavioural issues, ASD and ADHD, workplace conflict, occupational rehabilitation, and victims of crime.
Jane utilises several evidence-based Therapies including, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mediation.
Jane is an accredited Restorative Justice facilitator, which is a type of mediation designed to promote empathy and understanding between people that have either caused trauma or received trauma, or both.
Jane has a warm personality and an empathic nature. She will make you feel relaxed and understood. She has a client-centred approach and tailors her therapy to your needs and personality. Jane loves spending time with her husband, teenage son and a big rag-doll cat named ‘Bear’. In her downtime she likes to cook, read, go swimming and take road trips.
