Deb Parker

MSocWork (Mental Health), BBehavSc (Psych), BComm, AMHSW

Medicare registered Mental Health Social Worker

Deb is an experienced Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) who works with adults over 16 years old and couples experiencing relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, workplace stress and burnout, psychological injury, grief and loss, life transitions, eating disorders, and persistent patterns of negative thinking.

Her therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and tailored to each individual’s needs. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, Deb draws on a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Attachment Science, and Polyvagal-informed somatic approaches. For couples, she integrates the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to strengthen communication, rebuild connection, and navigate relationship challenges.

Deb believes that meaningful change begins with feeling heard and understood. She provides a warm, respectful, and non-judgemental space where clients can make sense of their experiences, build resilience, and develop practical strategies to move forward with greater confidence and emotional wellbeing. Deb is committed to helping you create meaningful and lasting change.

Outside of the therapy room, Deb enjoys dance aerobics and beach walks, discovering new cuisines, and listening to an eclectic mix of podcasts on psychology, science, true crime, travel, and adventure. Friends would describe her as bubbly, with a thoughtful and quietly reflective side.
