– with our Director Dr Rachel Hannam

As healthcare professionals, you are often expected to balance multiple responsibilities while keeping pace with rapidly evolving knowledge across numerous subspecialties. Alongside this, many clinicians routinely navigate grief, trauma, workforce shortages, resource constraints, social inequity, and an ever-increasing administrative burden. These pressures can create the perfect conditions for chronic stress, emotional exhaustion, and professional burnout.
Drawing on her extensive experience supporting hundreds of healthcare workers in private practice and as an organisational consultant, Dr Rachel Hannam offers free webinars and in-person seminars exploring why traditional self-care approaches, though important, are often insufficient to address the unique challenges faced by clinicians.
In this engaging session, Dr Hannam will:
- Examine the causes and consequences of professional stress and burnout in healthcare.
- Present a biopsychosocial model for understanding burnout.
- Discuss the impact of chronic stress on wellbeing, performance, and professional satisfaction.
- Explore risks including emotional isolation, mental health concerns, substance misuse, and occupational burnout.
- Provide practical, evidence-informed strategies to better understand, prevent, and manage burnout at both an individual and systemic level.
