Sharna Giammichele

B Psych (Hons) MAPS

Sharna is a genuine, experienced therapist, who isn’t afraid of having a good chuckle with her clients. She understands how hard it can be to reach out for professional help, particularly if you have previously experienced difficulties getting your emotional needs met in a safe and supported way. For this reason, she works hard to ensure that the space is comfortable, and you walk away feeling heard.

Sharna works with adolescents from 15 years, and adults. She commenced work in forensic settings in 2013, and has worked in private practice settings providing individual therapy since 2019. Sharna has a particular interest in work with complex trauma, and adult restrictive eating disorders. She is also experienced working with difficulties such as: grief, family conflict, relationship difficulties (including domestic and family violence), burnout, anxiety, and mood disorders.

Sharna has a warm, client-centred approach, using attachment based therapies, enhanced cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT-E), and third-wave forms of cognitive behaviour therapy or CBT (including Schema therapy).

In her spare time, Sharna likes to spend time with her pets and family, get outside, and learn new skills.
