Pia is a Health Psychology Registrar with a special interest in the connections between physical health and mental / emotional wellbeing. She is a committed advocate for those seeking an integrative approach in achieving mental and emotional wellness. Pia has a background in Nutrition and keeps up to date with the latest scientific developments regarding the impact of gut health and unhealthy lifestyle habits on our mental and emotional health.
Pia is particularly skilful with clients with histories of disordered eating and body image issues. She will work effectively with other health practitioners to ensure all aspects of your life and health are considered. She can help you transition from unrelenting standards of perfectionism to the pursuit of your authentic and excellent self! In this same vein, she enjoys and is experienced working with professionals at risk of executive burnout, and folks struggling with workplace stress and conflict.
Pia loves supporting people to apply psychological strategies to effectively alleviate mood disorders, chronic pain problems, addiction, poor sleep, and other mental health issues resulting from life stressors such as loss and bereavement, chronic stress, post-traumatic stress, shock trauma, developmental trauma, poor health, or unhealthy lifestyle choices.
Pia is trained in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) for food cravings and weight management. She is an approved Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) Supervisor. She has Advanced Training (Level 2) in the Gottman Method for couples therapy. She is skilled in applying Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Mindfulness-based therapies in order get to the bottom of your issues and equip you with the toolbox you need to address your issues.
