Kate is a fully-registered psychologist with Honours and a Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology. She is a warm, compassionate and genuine practitioner who will put you at ease straight away.
Kate works with adults, bringing sincerity and curiosity to her therapeutic practice. Her focus is on inclusivity and using warmth and humour to make you feel at ease. Kate sees people who need help with eating disorders, adjustment and personality disorders, ASD and ADHD, anxiety and panic, stress and depression, grief and loss, addiction, and PTSD. When working with body image issues and disordered eating, Kate’s approach is underpinned by principles aligned with a size-inclusive, weight-neutral approached to health enhancement, rather than intentional weight loss.
Kate uses compassion-focussed therapy (CFT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and schema mode therapy to help her clients create better lives and states of mind. She also draws from CBT-E (enhanced cognitive behaviour therapy) and family-based treatment (FBT). Kate is welcoming of LGBTIAQ+ clients.
Kate’s style of therapy is trauma-informed and attachment-focused. She helps you to understand yourself and your triggers and to engage actively in behaviour change.
If you are interested in booking in with Kate under an Eating Disorder Management Plan (EDMP), please read our EDMP FAQs for Patients & Doctors here to familiarise yourself with the eligibility criteria and other important details about these plans. Kate uses a Non-Diet Approach®.
In her spare time Kate can be found in nature with her beloved dogs, and baking delicious goodies in her kitchen.
