Jen is an empathic and experienced Mental Health Social Worker. She has a relaxed attentive therapeutic style and draws from a wide range of evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, DBT, family therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing and the Smart Recovery model.
Jen works cooperatively with clients to achieve their individual goals and improved wellness. She supports adults with substance misuse and addictive behaviours from a non judgemental harm-minimisation perspective. Her other professional areas of interests include working with PTSD, grief and loss, schizophrenia, OCD, chronic pain, bipolar, anxiety, depression, stress, ASD and ADHD.
Using both a Social Work and Psychology lens, Jen is able to look beyond just a diagnosis, also examining what is impacting socially, and physically. Her 13 years experience includes work in hospitals, crisis centres, and community settings. Jen understands the stress of day to day life and will use your strengths, goals, and values to support you to be the best you can be in your current environment or to support you to change your environment if need be. Jen’s friendly manner will put you at ease and will help you find ways to change that are sustainable for you.
In her spare time, Jen enjoys being a mum, spending time with family and friends, sharing a coffee, going to the gym and travelling.
