James is a warm and empathetic person and a fully registered psychologist. He has a background in general psychology, vocational counselling, sport and exercise psychology, performance and motivation psychology, and crisis counselling. He is able to assist those experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, work/sport performance concerns, relationship issues, addiction, alcohol and/or substance use, grief and loss, and overcoming other barriers to wellbeing.
James has worked with clients with anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders, psychosis and schizophrenia, complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and personality disorders. He draws on his knowledge of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Positive Psychology, and Person-centred Psychotherapy, and utilises a client-centred, holistic approach to client care.
